Your Teacher

Hi, I'm Chris. I'm the creator of GoRails, Hatchbox.io and Jumpstart. I spend my time creating tutorials and tools to help Ruby on Rails developers build apps better and faster.

About This Episode

Ever wanted to restrict user registrations to an account's work email or corporate email domains in your Rails app? It's a lot simpler than you might think.

Notes

We really just need to assign the correct account before the user is created so we can use it during validations. Then we can add a custom validation to make sure the email ends with the proper domain. If it doesn't, we'll add an error. This is also the perfect example to show you how to change the host in controller tests to simulate registering through a subdomain.
