Extract KPIs from Rails app and append to spreadsheet

Demetrios asked in General

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right place for a question like this but I'm wondering if anyone has any examples on how to easily extract (and display) some Key Performance Indicators from a running Rails application? I have a dozen or so metrics that I'd to be able to share (User.where('created_at > ?', 1.week.ago).count, etc.).

The request is to inject them into a Google Sheet every week but I'm open to suggestions. What are others doing to provide high level visibility into production Rails applications?

Trying to avoid creating new model to persist these when they can be generated rather quickly. Perhaps a route that would return the JSON that could then be parsed by another tool? Or a rake task that would run on weekly basis to push data somewhere? Thoughts?
