To begin with, there are so many js frameworks out there that's enough to intimidate a newbie who wants to learn "just javascript". Things in js world change so fast that we can barely keep up. I'm so thankful that I got a job as a python developer. But, when i wa irs.gov s searching for jobs, I spent time learning reactjs. Then, I realized not everything can be done through react easily. So, I transitioned to angularjs. I had to learn nodejs and typescr fedloan ipt too. This was back in 2017. Now, I look back through my udemy courses and a major portion of reactjs have got updated and there's again a learning curve.
Previously I have been using Laravel to develop RESTful API for my work. But I decided to expand my programming horizon by learning additional language, and seems like a strict type language can help me improve as a programmer.
Go and Kotlin looks complicated imo. Especially the lack of class in Go makes it harder for me to transition from PHP to Go. When I try Java, it can kind of grasp what I'm doing because both PHP and Java have almost similar structure when it comes to developing a class. Plus Spring Boot makes it easier for me to structure my project almost similar to the one like Larave
