I found a simple way to get this to work with webpack 4
Simply add ..

            loader: 'sass-loader',
            options: {
              "includePaths": [
                path.resolve(__dirname, 'node_modules'),
                path.resolve(__dirname, 'src')
              ]
            }
          }

to you sass-loader in webpack.config.js

also if you are using parcel you can create a .sassrc.js with ...
