St. Louis Ruby on Rails

The St. Louis web development community for Ruby on Rails is small but rapidly on the rise. Here we'll be keeping a directory of St. Louis web developers, companies, meetups, and events going on in the community.

Chris Oliver

Chris Oliver is a startup veteran and Ruby, Rails, and Python developer in St. Louis with specialization in web development. He's also a user experience architect who deeply understands the interactions people have with software. He also helped start LaunchCodeSTL and ArchRails.

If you're looking for St. Louis web development help, talk to Chris.

Arch Rails Meetup

Arch Rails is a meetup for people interested in learning about application development using Ruby on Rails. Anyone is welcome - software developers obviously, but also front-end devs, designers and business people who are interested in seeing what Rails can do and how to work with Rails developers.

Goals:

  1. Focus on Ruby on Rails only, with discussion/learning about Ruby only provided in the context of Rails.
  2. Provide technical presentations for developers currently using Rails, or interested in it.
  3. Provide technical presentations for front-end web developers to understand the ins and outs of erb, haml, etc.
  4. Provide non-technical presentations for business people who've heard of Rails and want to understand how it can be used on their products/businesses.

LaunchCode St. Louis

Anyone interested in a career in programming should checkout LaunchCode STL. It's a collaboration between over 100 companies in St. Louis who are looking to train and hire developers fulltime.

Placements can learn Ruby on Rails, Java, C#, and a host of other languages by applying and getting placed at one of the jobs offered through the program.
